This project balanced the need to expand the Franklin Lakes Public Library within a severely constricted site. The second-level addition, built primarily of custom trusses, spans the footprint of the original building, allowing the first floor to remain unimpeded by columns. Traditional building materials found throughout the local area were used, and the re-development enabled the library to retain its existing parking lot without interfering with the neighboring baseball field.
