Walnut West Branch Library

The project restored the original elegance of the existing 1906 Andrew Carnegie-financed Free Library of Philadelphia building near the University of Pennsylvania, including the preservation and repair of its terra cotta exterior. This 11,000 square foot project reorganized the interior and updated the facility with modern library amenities. The project is registered with the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED ™) program – the first LEED-registered project for the City of Philadelphia – and is anticipated to earn a LEED Certification.
