Evans-Schattner Renovation, School of Dental Medicine, University of Pennsylvania
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

The Thomas Evans Building and Robert Schattner Center are two of Penn Dental’s three facilities. For the flagship Evans Building, BKP demolished 1970s-era offices to capture original 1915 details and ceiling heights and to create open, natural light-filled space. In the Schattner Center, a one-story support area adjacent to the main lobby atrium was modified from a food vendor to space for Student Admissions, Patient Registration, and Patient Billing and Insurance. New casework, finishes, and details were designed to appear as part of the original 2002 aesthetic.
